How UAE successfully treated 73 COVID-19 patients without any adverse effects
A medical team in UAE “cured” 73 COVID-19 patients. These patients recovered from the coronavirus and were discharged from the hospital, following an innovative type of regenerative medicine. Clinicians confirmed that no patients suffered any adverse side effects from the treatment.
“At the Abu Dhabi Stem Cell Center, we are proud to work on developing a supportive treatment for COVID-19 patients which is undergoing clinical trials for the first time in the UAE. This is a national achievement,” Dr. Fatima Al Kaabi, is a member of the stem cell research team against COVID-19.
Dr. Al Kaabi commented more saying that they strive for patients to overcome the symptoms as there is no know cure for COVID-19.
The clinicians remove adult stem cells from the patient’s blood and then reinject them after an activation process. They deliver the treatment via inhalation.
“The pioneering treatment is hypothesized to have its therapeutic effect by regenerating lung cells and modulating the immune response to keep it from overreacting to the COVID-19 infection and causing further damage to healthy cells,” Abu Dhabi regenerative medical team said.
Finally, the UAE approved a patent for this novel treatment. The researchers will continue with more clinical studies to further prove the efficacy of the therapy.
